Valentine's Day in Valentine, Texas
Joe and Wendy Davis just returned from another trip to the amazing West Texas town of Marfa. On February 14th they attended holiday festivities in Valentine, Texas. That's right, Valentine is a real place, if a very small one. The drive from Marfa to Valentine on a straight and narrow two-lane blacktop is 35 miles along vast open road. This little town of 217 people hosts an annual Valentine's Day event that draws thousands of visitors for a night of Texas-style country music, dancing, food trucks, and local craft beer from Big Bend Brewery. The experience was a perfect example of small town Americana, complete with pick-up trucks, cowboy boots and the Texas Two-Step, all adding up to a romantic, memorable evening.
