Why Street Level Studio Loves the Town it Calls Home: Part Two

A Vibrant Community

We recently raved about the fabulous restaurants that surround our marketing and design studio in Highwood, IL. While the allurement of great cuisine is appreciable, Highwood also offers a diverse culture and great sense of community.

In Highwood, there is always something to celebrate, and this Chicago suburb offers plenty of opportunities for anyone looking to pack their social calendar. Tempting events such as Highwood Days, Garlic Fest, Bloody Mary Fest, and Highwood’s Evening Market, are just a few of the festivities that make this an engaging town to call home.

Highwood’s Evening Market, which runs Wednesday evenings from June to August, marks the beginning of summer and is located in Evert’s Park, just a three-minute walk from Street Level Studio. Community and culture connect while this delightful market serves as a great gathering place for friends and families to enjoy live entertainment, cocktails, and food galore.

While summer is always a lively occasion, the festivities don’t stop there. Fall and winter also bring about celebratory events in Highwood, including an annual Holiday Lighting, and one of our all-time favorite events, The Great Pumpkin Fest.

Over the last several years this fall fest has drawn more than 100,000 participants. One year it even gained national attention when the crew of the popular HGTV show, Property Brothers, filmed the prime-time special, Pumpkin Wars to see if Highwood could beat the Guinness World Record for the most pumpkins carved in one place. Talk about a sense of community — stay tuned for coverage on this year’s Pumpkin Fest in the fall!

In addition to the dynamic culture and community of this humble Chicago suburb, we can’t go without saying how much we love being in the vicinity of Lake Michigan and all of its surrounding North Shore communities.

Fort Sheridan, which is just a few-minute drive north of Highwood, is a historic landmark residential community sure to make any nature lover’s heart content. With its bike paths, hiking trails, forest preserve, educational exhibits, beach, and parks, there’s something that appeals to everyone.

But, don’t take our word for it, stop by and check out one of Highwood’s upcoming events here. Then you’ll understand our admiration for this spirited community!
