Word on the Street

Last summer, team member Zach (Web and Interactive Developer) commuted to Street Level Studio by bike and unicycle to get exercise and save money. As fall and winter approached, he decided to challenge himself to push his limits in the harsher weather.

We sent him out with a GoPro^® camera to capture a day of riding his unicycle to SLS.

Joe and Wendy Davis just returned from another trip to the amazing West Texas town of Marfa. On February 14^th they attended holiday festivities in Valentine, Texas. That's right, Valentine is a real place, if a very small one.

As a bunch of seasoned graphic designers and programmers, we are always looking for inspiration for the next great marketing campaign. Given that today is a national holiday, Presidents Day, our eyes are drawn to the lighter side of politics.

On Super Bowl Sunday, the Chicago area was hit with a whopper of a blizzard. They say it was among the top five storms ever to blow across the area. Of course, with no way for everyone to navigate through 20+ inches of snow to get to work the next day, Street Level Studio had to deploy Plan B.

We posed this question to our Street Level Studio team, and here’s what we had to say.

Every so often, part of the Street Level Studio team hits the road for a brief getaway. One might guess that their journey would lead them to a beach or ski resort, but co-founders Wendy and Joe Davis insist, it’s all about a tiny town in the middle of the West Texan desert called Marfa.

Our newest employee is full of surprises. Zach has “graduated” from an intern position at Street Level Studio to fulltime status because he is talented, curious, and full of energy.

Well, spring is here (more or less), in Chicago and we’ve decided to follow an old tradition by cleaning house a bit.

Our office is now fully illuminated by energy efficient LED lighting, with the exception of a few pesky task lights.
