We’re ringing in the new year by venturing into the icy waters of Lake Michigan! Tanya, Brian, and Zach have decided to freeze their Fahrenheits off at Waukegan’s 17^th annual Polar Bear Plunge.

Last week, the Street Level Studio team took a break from our work to celebrate the close of another successful year.

Whether you work in a high-rise in the city, a tiny office in the suburbs, or your own home, the atmosphere of your workplace matters. The average American worker spends 47 hours at work per week, which is a lot of time to spend in uninspiring surroundings. At Street Level Studio, it’s important to us that our studio reflects our creativity, so we’ve infused our workspace with a wide variety of colorful and unusual art pieces.

Fall has arrived! At Street Level Studio, we can tell — not by the 75˚ forecasts — but by the wall of orange outside our office doors. That’s the 6th Annual Great Highwood Pumpkin Festival getting underway, with thousands of pumpkins being carved, lit, and carefully displayed throughout Highwood.

We were saddened to learn of the recent passing of world-renowned Swiss type designer Adrian Frutiger. The world of typography — and the world around you — would be very different without the work of Frutiger, who designed nearly 30 fonts, many of which you use and see every day.

We’re excited to share that last Saturday, September 12^th, marked the 10-year anniversary of Senior Graphic Designer Jennie Dembowski! Jennie became a part of Street Level Studio in the fall of 2005 as a production artist and graphic designer and has been an invaluable member of the team ever since.
